Networking PACS (Picture Archival and Communications Systems are the backbone of every Networking program. They are responsible for acquiring, transmitting, storing and retrieving, and displaying digital images and related pateint information from a variety of imaging sources and communicatin the information throught the organization. The entire process may be summed in two words; "Storage" and "Sharing" Additional components necesary to achieve the process include DICOM Boxes, Display Stations, Monitors, and CD-Burners. Behind these systems are a number of "Connections" via wireless, infared, and wired inrerfaces.
